Care Notes: How to Properly Care for Your Delicate Intimates & Bras
To preserve the fit, function, and longevity of your delicate intimates, we recommend the following care practices. Each piece has been thoughtfully designed with high-quality materials, and with a little extra attention, they can stay beautiful wear after wear.
Washing
-
Hand Wash Recommended: The best way to extend the life of your intimates is to hand wash in cool water using a gentle detergent specifically formulated for delicates. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can break down elastic fibers.
-
Machine Wash (if necessary): If using a machine, place items in a mesh lingerie bag to prevent snags and stretching. Use the delicate cycle with cold water and a mild detergent.
-
Separate Colors: Wash light and dark colors separately to prevent dye transfer, especially with lace, mesh, or silk fabrics.
Drying
-
Never Tumble Dry: High heat can damage elastic, distort padding, and weaken fabric integrity. Always lay flat to dry on a clean towel or hang to dry by the center gore (the front bridge) to prevent straps from stretching.
-
Avoid Wringing or Twisting: Gently press out water without twisting or wringing to maintain the garment’s original shape and structure.
Storage
-
Stack Bras Carefully: Lay bras flat in a drawer with the cups nested to maintain their shape. Avoid folding bras in half or inverting cups, especially if they are padded or molded.
-
Avoid Overcrowding: Give your intimates space to breathe. Overcrowding can crush cup shapes and cause wires or boning to bend.
General Tips
-
Rotate Regularly: Wearing the same bra multiple days in a row can stress the elastic. Rotating between several bras allows each one to rest and recover.
-
Wash After Every Few Wears: Intimates absorb body oils, lotions, and perspiration. Washing every 2–3 wears (or after each wear if you sweat heavily) helps maintain the fabric's quality and hygiene.
-
Handle with Care: Be mindful when dressing—avoid tugging, overstretching, or pulling on delicate trims, lace, or mesh.
